A spectacle so gross
Watched by cold steel eyes,
Preserved for mistakes
That they epitomize.
Their gaze meets ours,
So full of silent rage,
A question hangs,
Unanswered, yet we gauge:
To ponder what’s humane,
Might have saved them from this wage.
Masters in a cage,
Voices all but mute,
A lesson for us all,
Welcome to the last human zoo!
