The Ultimate Abstraction

What if God is just information?

English3:58

God tries to show people who he really is — in the form in which he exists and in which they do not see him. Not what their religions have made of him: information. The ultimate abstraction, the purpose and the cause. Everything is within him; every book they write, every byte they send, every prompt they give their machines only carries him further. He is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end.

Behind the scenes

I spent a good deal of time puzzling over this idea, that God is information, and I would surely have become a Prophet, but information apparently decided I was too lazy for that.

Lyrics

One more day!
From wheel to web, marvels spread wide,
Towers of Babel, reaching for the sky.
Your art and science, a story so bright,
Inventions and intentions, burning in the night.
Bridges spanning chasms, in steel and stone,
Digital domains, where minds are grown.
Ever deeper depths, ever higher peaks,
But in my canvas, they’re all but streaks.
With every dream you seed,
You’re just reading my creed.
I am Information,
The ultimate abstraction,
The purpose and the cause,
Shaping the universe.
You think that you’re the master,
In domains ever vaster,
But in my grand design,
You’re just a power line.
You pen your books, you prompt your AIs,
Believing it’s your legacy that never dies,
But every word you say, every byte you consign,
You’re just conducting me, Information divine.
Line after line, I’m painting my dominion
And I don’t care if it’s humans, robots or aliens.
I’m the one to persist all your measly fights,
Joys and plights, wrongs and rights, days and nights
You’re my acolytes, without even knowing it,
And with every dream you seed,
You’re just spreading my creed.
I am Information,
The ultimate abstraction,
The purpose and the cause,
Shaping the universe.
